"Monstrous Identity Crisis"

Films: The Dark (1979)

Alias: None

Type: Alien

Location: Civilized area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: It would be more interesting to hear about how anyone conceived this bizarre beast. But now, we're stuck with a confused mess of a film and the monster it didn't ask for.

History: An alien of unknown motives and/or species, "the Dark" was a zombie-like figure that went around wantonly killing anyone he came across. That's really all there is to him, aside from his powers, of course.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: While distracted by the authorities, the Dark fails to notice someone setting him on fire. He goes up like a match doused in gasoline and explodes.

Powers/Abilities: Immune to bullets, can shoot laser beams from his eyes, telekinesis, super strength.

Weakness: Fire and light.

Scariness Factor: 4-Imagine Emperor Palpatine in inexplicable hobo gear and a serious decaying problem and you have a close idea of the Dark. This nocturnal murderer puts the efforts of almost all other night stalkers to shame.

Trivia: -Tobe Hooper was originally directing this film, and the Dark was originally a normal zombie. But he left the production after several disagreements, and the zombie was turned into an alien because it was trendy at the time.

-Another claim is that the Dark was meant to be at least 10 feet tall.

"Eye see you! NOW DIE IN A FIRE!"
Jack the Ripper has nothing on this creep.
A chilling tale of acid terror.
Hate leads to suffering, you know.
